Getting Started with Backups
1. Adding backups
Add your repositories to the system and select the branches you want to backup.
2. Configure Backup Settings
Set up your backup preferences including branches to backup.
Recovering your code
1. Select a version to download
If you have had backups enabled for a while you will have a list of versions to choose from.
2. Unpack the bundle
Your file will be something like this: gitglue-backup-2025-08-10-12-00-00.gz
3. Create a new directory
You need to make a new directory and copy the contents of the bundle into it (its better to unpack it in the new directory and remove the .gz file when unpacked)
3. Implement bundle
Verify the bunle
git bundle verify ./backupfile.bundle
We will use the bundle to restore your code.
git clone ./backupfile.bundle
